Local Perspectives on PMSCs Working Group

Private, Military and Security Companies (PMSCs) are major actors at the local level of security operations and often their work undermines the security of women and visible minorities. They also have a significant impact on the gendered economies of localized spaces.
This working group seeks to investigate questions such as, what are the inter-linkages and ruptures between the local and global security operations? What specific needs/issues arise for the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda in local private security spaces? What does PMSC engagement on the various pillars of the WPS agenda look like at the local level?
